1. Prep the video games for sale.
The first thing you'll want to do is get your games ready for the big sale. This can include a number of different tasks including any dust off of them that might be present.
If you have older cartridge style video games, then inspect the inner metal contacts in the end that gets inserted into the game console to ensure that all dust and dirt particles have been removed. Be careful not to ruin the metal contacts by scratching them or breaking them. Use a soft cloth to remove and dirt and debris that is present.
Disc video games should be wiped clean as well with a soft cloth and gentle non-abrasive cleaning solution. Consider not using any cleaning solution at all and just rely on the cloth alone.
2. Re-package the video games.
If you have the original packaging, be place the game inside it and seal it up if you have a home sealer. If you don't have the original packaging or case, consider purchasing a generic plastic case for game cartridges or jewel case for discs.
When you have them packaged and sealed, be sure that they are clearly labeled so you know exactly what game it is and what gaming system the video game is used with.
3. Where to sell them.
There are a number of places that you can sell used video games if you're looking to get rid of yours. One way that you can try and sell them is by placing a free classified ad online. This is a very popular method that is used by many for the purpose of selling a number of different items.
Another great way that you can get rid of old games is taking them to a local game exchange dealer. If you have one in your area, then you can bring them in and they will either pay you for your games or give you in store credit which you can use toward the purchase of new games.
You can also try and sell them on online auction sites. Your best bet with these sites is to sell your games in bulk so you can at least recoup any listing fees that you might encounter.
